How can i style my curly hair into straight waves without heat ?

i have curly big hair, and i just want the waves that you get from a curling iron without heat. I want the waves that people with straight hair have. is there anything i could do or use to smooth out the curl or make the waves straighter without an iron? you could blow dry your hair and then put those big rollers in it..

or you can take a few old soup cans...(i like to use the smaller ones like when you buy tomato paste) and rap your dry hair around that and sleep on it. it will do the same as the rollers, but it helps to reduce frizz too..
I have really curly hair and when i want to make it wavy, i blow dry it and then use hot rollers. i know they are a little out dated but they work really well and don't really damage your hair.
