How to properly blow dry thick curly hair?

My hair is really thick and curly, and it's pretty long. The curls are pretty loose, but that might be because I usually sleep with it wet.. So any tips would be much appreciated! Thanks! How to properly blow dry thick curly hair?
Well my roommate has really thick curly hair, and she usually puts mousse in it, and then uses a drier diffuser. It fits on the end of your blow drier. Then you face the drier so it goes up towards your face, not down towards your feet. this will allow your hair to dry, while not making it too frizzy. Hope this helps! How to properly blow dry thick curly hair?
use a diffuser on your blow dryer. it will keep your curls from being blown apart too much.

You use a conditioner every time you shampoo.

Do not touch your hair after you get out of the shower.

Let it stay where it falls into place.

After it is dry pat some hair gloss or shine product. How do I keep my wet curly hair from becoming dry and straight?

How should I wear my long curly thick hair under my graduation cap?

I have long brown curly thick hair and i have my graduation tonight and i have to wear my cap how should i do it? I also have a dress that i am wearing after that has a completly open back so i sorta want to do my hair in a low wide bun should i ? HELP!How should I wear my long curly thick hair under my graduation cap?
Your idea sounds cute and sophisticated at the same time. Wearing the bun low will enable you to wear the cap easily. Also, pulling your hair back like that will keep the cap from flattening a puffy hairdo.

How do you extend your hair with a slight curly?

How do you get long curly hair if you naturally have straight shoulder length hair?I would really like to get long curly hair and right now i have shoulder length straight hair. What kind of options are there that won't damage my hair and that aren't too expensive? How do you extend your hair with a slight curly?
You should definitely get hair extensions! I think you can get ones that will make your hair as long as you want, but you can get a curl at the end. If they just come straight wherever you go get them put in, you could just curl the ends with a curling iron. How do you extend your hair with a slight curly?
The only way to make your hair longer, is to get hair extensions, which could be costly if you get them professionally done, which I suggest you do. If you don't put hair extensions in right, it could come out really terrible looking. I also suggest you curl the extensions, which would limit your cost at the salon. But if you are willing to spend the money, ask them to style it for you !

How do I stop my hair from getting really curly?

I notice when I shower and put product in my hair, my hair gets super curly. So I have to put it in a bun to loosen the curls. hair straighter and don't use that much water.

When you are finished taking a shower don't use a towel to dry your hair.

Just wait till it gets dry alone then use the hair straighter.

Then Use a Hair Polisher and it will look nice. How do I stop my hair from getting really curly?
    buy a hair straighter
mine is the same way! you can straighten it, and the longer it is the less curly it is. also there is some product you can buy that will make it straight but it doesn't always work
The answer to how stop your hair from getting really curly is to have the best hair relaxer available. It has the name of Brazilian keratin treatment, and according to the Brazilian relaxer reviews the best Brazilian treatment for hair is the one that does not have formaldehyde, an ingredient very nasty to the hair. I get it at my salon in NYC, they do the best Brazilian treatment for hair in New York. How do you get your hair curly without it getting poofy?

I see other girls at my school that wear their hair straight one day and the next day its curly and im tired of straigtning my hair everyday. My question is not really what products work best (thought that would be a bonus), but really the technique and such. I have tried putting moose in my hair after i take a shower but its starts to get poofy after my hair dries. I really would appreciate anything. How do you get your hair curly without it getting poofy?
Straight hair comes genetically, but for US people who have puffy hair (me too), we have to stick with hair straightener. However, if you go to a hair salon, then have what is called a permanent hair straightener technique which they apply a hair solution that will keep your hair straight, even after you take a shower! So go check with a hair salon. How do you get your hair curly without it getting poofy?
my hair constantly gets poofy so i braid it as soon as i get out of the shower, blow dry it then take it out. your hair wont be really curly but it still ends up looking nice. i also use leave-in conditioners (there;s a new one from sunsilk thats just amazing! :)
I have naturally curly hair, as well. I straighten my hair about once or twice a month. I find that using a product called ';Frizz Ease';, works best. Also, I use Infusium a leave-in conditioner. I will wash my hair, use the infusium, put in the serum, then blow dry. Then, I use a huge curling iron to mend my ends. I keep my hair straightened for 3 days, without washing it. I find, I can't stand not washing it any longer than that. For additional styles, get a curling iron that is shaped like spiral curls, or a crimping plate that has waves. It's easier than straightening it ever day. I don't know about you, but my hair is all one length past my shoulders, so the process takes at least 2 hours on the first day. Also, if you are straightening your hair in the bathroom after your hot shower, make sure all the steam is out, this makes your hair frizz.
If you want to be able to do both, then don't do a chemical straightening. Blow dry your hair straight and curl with a medium temp curling iron. This helps you control the curl. Another way is to put wet moussed hair on large rollers and letting them air dry(if you have time) this actually works best. The only thing is when you are putting the curlers in DO NOT PULL UP ON HAIR. Always comb down with curly hair when putting in rollers. They will not be right against the scalp but over other hair. This prevents some of the poofies you hate.
Sometimes people straighten it first then they curl it with a curling iron
I think they might be just rich and go to the barberer shop everyday.
Shampoo your hair, put leave in conditioner in and plate your hair. Add something like frizzease to minimize the puffiness before you plate your hair.

Take the plates out after your hair dries do not comb. Separate with your fingers.

I'm in the process of growing my hair out, but my hair is naturally very frizzy, unmanagable, thick, and poofy. Try to work w/ your curls rather than straightening them. If you spend a bit of time learning how to work with them, I know you'll be surprised at how great they can look.

    Some frizz-fighting tips:

    * A good haircut is key

    * Sleep on a satin pillowcase

    * Don't shampoo every day

    * Comb conditioner through hair in the shower

    * Avoid terrycloth towels; use microfiber instead

    * Air dry or use a diffuser

    * Use styling products suited for your hair type

    * NEVER use a brush

    * Don't touch your hair

It's taken me almost 20 years to figure out my curly hair haha but I've found a routine that works. Wash and condition your hair, just squeeze extra water out of your hair, don't towel dry it. Then use tresseme curl mousse and make sure it's evenly spread throughout your hair. Finally use a diffuser attachment on your hair dryer to dry your curls while your head is upside down. Get a short enough ivy league or crew cut so that it doesn't curl. A control wax will add a certain amount of gloss.

Some barbers describe an ivy league as a crew cut just long enough to be parted and combed to the side, if so desired. An ivy league can also be worn with the hair brushed up off the forehead to form the short pomp front, or with the short bangs brushed down on the forehead like a forward brush cut.

    Essential barbering knowledge:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Crew_c

Grooming any of the short pomp(pompadour) styles- crew cut, ivy league, flat top crew cut- is basically the same and takes about a minute or two.

    1) Towel dry hair.

    2) Barely dip fingertips in jar of wax.

    3)Transfer wax to palms.

    4) Smooth palms over hair.

5)Brush hair off forehead to form short pomp front.

Whichever style you decide on, be sure to take a photo to help describe the desired haircut to the barber or stylist. If you need more photos of any of the styles discussed above, let me know.

braid it at night it also helps it grow
There is a particular Sunsilk shampoo and conditioner designed to fix your problem.
Braid it all day and night and don't starighin them when you take a shower leave them the way they are and when the dry up braid it.
what i do is.. i don't take a shower at night, just in the morning when i want curly hair. Then after i take a shower, i do my make up and get dressed and that lets my hair become less wet and just kinda damp. Then i add some hair conditioner spray in it, brush it, and then put in a fructis gel with any hair spray that i can get a hold of.. BUT DON'T BRUSH YOUR HAIR WHEN IT'S DRY. or else you will only have poofy frizzy hair
put in leave in conditioner right after you shower (better at night), try garnier fructis sleek and shine. Then put your hair in a bun overnight and take it out in the morning and even if you brush it your hair will be soft, managable, and really pretty!
Please don't brush your curls after they're dry-- curls are only supposed to be brushed when wet. It can lead to hair breakage, especially if your curls are tight, and it'lI leave you with an afro. I have the same problem, but I have given up on my curls and just straighten all the time. I used to use tons of conditioner, though.
brush with a natrual bristeled brush, and since ur hair can be unruly (as mine) try 2 NOT brush it while wet (as it is weaker) get a proper brush and change brushes every few years.

a serumHow do you stop naturally curly hair going frizzy?
I too have naturally very curly hair and I've fought for years to tame it.

The best thing I have found is to use a product that does not contain alcohol. Curling creams are good. But just use a little so as not to weigh it down.

Also, when you wash it put on a good conditioner and comb it through with a wide toothed comb. Rinse out and don't comb again. Combing again separates the curl and causes frizz. Now put on an alcohol free product.( I used a great moose when in the USA. It was in an all lilac tin with a purple lid ....not much help as I cannot remember the name but I bought it in Wallmart. In the UK Boots own brand moose is good)

So now you have the product on either let it dry on it's own or use a diffuser. However once your product is on, don't be touching your hair. The natural oils on your hand can cause frizz.

    Hope this helps!
i use a serum called biosilk. i also have thick, curly hair. it really helps get rid of the frizziness. u squirt out a dime sized amount onto your palm. rub it between both palms and run your fingers from the roots down to your ends. you can apply it to wet and dry hair. hope this helps.

Does anyone have any product suggestions to make it look better? Or how can I make it easier to straighten? How can I make my curly hair prettier or easier to straighten?
So well i have super curly pretty thick but sensitive curls, when i first decided to straighten it i got the permanently chemical straight ,and it was straight but very puffy but the Paul Mitchell smooth straightener fixed the poof and the frizz liquid.

Now its been more than a year and my curls are growing and coming back so i take a shower and use hydrating shampoo and conditioner then blow drying cream and frizz Liquid spray the blow dry it to let the curl go away in 4 sections,, the morning i straighten it with good straighten it then hair spray and frizz Liquid to have no static

so i recommend blow Drying it before straightening to take the curl off and spraying frizz spray while blow drying

but if you was just curls i recommend putting curl cream after taking a shower when its wet then curl spray [if you want soft curls] or moose or gel but usually end up crunchier

-using products like paul Mitchell or chi are good ,brands like that

Good Luck! How can I make my curly hair prettier or easier to straighten?
you should use the heat protectors

they make your hair look silky after you straighten it,

not like all dry and frizzy (:

and also, i reccommend CHI straighteners.

2 seconds, and its burning hot and it mosturizes your hair while its straightening.

its so good that you only need one stroke per section of hair :)
my hair is a total curly mess and this product called ';L'Oreal Tec Liss Control'; is the best thing ever. i usually mix it with some other products, but if you don't want to use a lot of product, give this a try. i can get away with just putting this in my hair before i blowdry it out and it works really well.

it costs 20 bucks a bottle. i have shoulder-length hair, i use about a quarter-sized blob every day, and it takes about 5 months to run out.

You can most likely use Mixed Chicks. The good thing about it is that allows you to work with what you got. Good luck.

How can I keep my curly hair nice for the next day when I take a shower at night?

I normally take showers in the morning in order to keep my curly hair decent. Do to time issues I need to start taking showers at night but am concerned my hair will be a bird's nest in the morning. Any tips? Help! How can I keep my curly hair nice for the next day when I take a shower at night?
i have curly hair too, and my curls actually come out the nicest when i shower at night... i just put mousse in it while its wet and go straight to be and just make sure that it is slightly fanned out, not under your head. How can I keep my curly hair nice for the next day when I take a shower at night?
if u have gressy hair then u have to be careful but just go to ur local drug store and get some gel stuff they sell really good products
streighten your hair in the morning it takes around 5-15 miniutes depending on your hair
you might have to re-wet your hair in the morning, and then dry it again to get it to curl.
With my hair its the exact same way, to avoid that problem i just straighten it everyday, but when i dont have time to straighten my hair what i do is put my head in the shower/sink and wet my hair, once im done with that i let it dry a little and then put some mousse into it and spray it with curl enhance spray. I then let my hair air dry for a little longer and then i use a blow dryer on the lowest setting and dry my hair while scrunching it. To make it easier here are the steps:

    1. Wet Hair

    2. Let air dry 5 -10 minutes

    3. Add Mousse

    4. Add Curl Enhancer Spray

    5. Let air dry 5 minutes

    6. Blow Dry while scrunching hair

    hope this helpssss
What I do is I put Herbal Essences: Totally Twisted in my hair. It works really well and you can use it with dry and wet hair. You can either shape the curls or just let it dry on its own to get a more natural look!

How do i keep my curly hair less poofy and still very health?

after i shower my hair is wet and i leave it down when i got to sleep. then in the morning it curly but huge, to make it worst it get poofy after i comb or brush it. to help hde it i wear my hair in a pony tail all the time......how can i keep it from being poofy? How do i keep my curly hair less poofy and still very health?
You could make sure it is dry after shampooing and put it in one big ponytail braid. This should give a natural wave without the poofy problem. If you want a little more curl, you could lightly mist the braid with hair styling spray. How do i keep my curly hair less poofy and still very health?
Do NOT comb or brush your hair when it's dry. Do that when it's wet. After you comb it put some mousse in it, and then put in some curl creme.

It will make your hair look amazing.
Biolage makes a great gelee for this problem - definitely wash your hair with a very moisturing straightening shampoo and conditioner - biolage is very good for this and then use the gelee and use a pick to comb it - don't brush it - that just creates more poof.

put gel are hairspray in it and scrunch it
Invest in a diffuser. It's a blowdryer attachment that softens the stream of air and lets your hair dry into its natural wave pattern much better than a regular blowdryer or waiting for it to air dry. If you still need a boost, put a little mousse (sp?) in and scrunch your hair as you dry it. Hope this helps :)

Then put some hair conditioner, also using Pantene conditioner for perfect curls. leave it on for a while.. while waiting, comb your hair with a brush. when you get out of the shower, use Pantene Pro-V hair moisturizer oil replacement. it keeps your curls moisturized and bouncy instead of just frizzy and bushy.

What is the best (and quickest) way to strighten wet, curly hair with a straightener?

I have natually curly hair. I recently bought myself a ceramic straightener with a setting for wet hair and I just love the results I get when I straighten my hair after showering. The problem is that it takes me forever to do. I clip the hair on top of my head and straighten it in sections.

Does anyone have any advice on how to make this process go faster?

I would also love any advice on how to style medium-length curly hair. When curly, it falls just below my shoulders and I'm always at a loss for what to do with it.What is the best (and quickest) way to strighten wet, curly hair with a straightener?
You should buy some Frizz Ease and put it through your wet hair, then with a paddle brush dry it as straight as possible. You should be able to zip over it with the straightener, rather than making sure you get each little section. What is the best (and quickest) way to strighten wet, curly hair with a straightener?
Baby maby you should let it get alittle dry cause that will steam alot if it is on high. then hold it on one spott than go down slowy on your hair.
You could always get a ';Wet'2Straight'; Straightner they work good.
Well, one thing you could do is ask someone else to straighten it for you......trust me, it's always faster.

How to make naturally curly hair more straight and wavy?

My hair is naturally really curly, frizzy, thick, poofy, all of that. And I'd like to know if there's a way to make my hair straighter without spending too much money. The straightener is killing my hair with the heat, and chemically straightening my hair didn't work in the first place. Is there a product that will help me with my problem? How to make naturally curly hair more straight and wavy?
To take care of your poofiness, you can go to a salon, and ask them to thin it, that helps make your hair look less, and so it wouldn't have that much volume to make it poofy.

And about your curlyness, buy a product that is use for STRAIGHT hair only. Another way is you can wash your hair before bed, and then tied your hair into a low pony tail, that'll help with the poofyness and the curly hair.

I hope that helps! How to make naturally curly hair more straight and wavy?
i have the same exact problem. i hate my hair because its soooooo poofy. and i have been straitening it. but it is frying my hair! i have tried so many things. and nothing has worked for me! so i think were just screwed lol
    get a CHI.

then get CHI iron guard spray(to protect it from the heat)

How do i get curly hair after it is dry and is losing its pattern without wetting it or shampooing?

Hey i'm half chinese half black and i live in the Jamaica. I was wondering if anyone knew how to revitalize curly hair after it has dried and is losing its curl pattern WITHOUT shampooing. There are great products here in Jamaica but I'm just not sure which ones really work they have IC (Fantasia),motions, yellow, pantene, garnie鈥?fructis and sum other stuff. Oh and i was wondering which leave in conditioners and good? How do i get curly hair after it is dry and is losing its pattern without wetting it or shampooing?
what i usually do is put curling product [garnier fructise] or anti-friz stuff in my hair when i get out of the shower and if later in the day it starts to lose its curl, but is already dry, i just spray it with water until its damp and scrunch my hair with a teeeny bit of aussie leave in conditionerHow do i get curly hair after it is dry and is losing its pattern without wetting it or shampooing?
use garnier fructis curling mousse when your hair is wet, scrunch it in, it really hold your curls :-)
I use Infusium leave in- that stuff is amazing! I have really think, curly hair and by the time I'm dont fixing half of it- the other half is dry! Spray some of that on there and it helps 100%! Also helps with frizzies too! And its not expensive- you can get it almost anywhere!
I have naturally curly hair too.

Carefree Curl Gold is excellent for curls and moisture or you can use Kid Organics Moisturizing Detangling lotion. Both products help keep the curl and keep the hair soft. PLUS they are both well priced.

The best leave in conditioner I have found for me is by Silk Elements, it's the Leave-In Hair Moisturizing Cream. In fact the whole line of Silk Elements products works well on textures such as ours.

Braiding the hair in semi-large sections while wet and with conditioner should do the trick.. Or you can double strand twist it in thick chunks while wet so it can dry stretched out and shrink less...

    TRY A MILD RELAXER
    hmmm
Try a cream that you put in your hair after you get out of the shower that minimizes body or volume. Preferably L'oreal.
If your hair is naturally curly, not a lot you can do but use shampoo products to smooth your hair. A good smoothing leave-on smoothing creme and style as usual. And don't try to kill your curls, they are back in style!
you don't all hair shrinks when it drys. sorry. try a heavy weight frizz controlling serum though

How do you relax curly hair without a permenent affect?

I have really curly hair and I want to relax it without having a salon chemical treatment! Are there any shampoos, creams, or products that will gently relax my curls without permently damaging them? I also try not to use heat products to keep the hair healthier so a product that is not heat activated would be best.

I love thoes loose curl hair styles (you know the bohemian style), but my curls are just a little too tight. Thank you for all your help. How do you relax curly hair without a permenent affect?
I have extremely curly hair too. I use Pantene Shampoo and conditioner - in separate bottles, not the 2 in 1 - the ';Smooth and Sleek'; kind. I then use Pantene Curl smoothing Moose on wet hair. My hair drys with very sleek and smooth curls. They aren't at all crunchy or frizzy.

This excerpt is from the manufacturer:

    ';This product is truly magical. Each ingredient has been specifically chosen to smooth and straighten hair without stripping natural oils, yet lets you create a salon-quality look at home.';

  • How should I sleep with my curly hair so it doesnt get ruined?

I have fairly curly hair but sometimes its more like extremely wavy. After I take a shower its pretty and curly but if i sleep on it, wet or dry, the next morning its flat and lifeless. I've tried numerous hair products but none seem to work. What should I do?How should I sleep with my curly hair so it doesnt get ruined?
Try sleeping with your hair in a hair turban. Some call it plopping (see my source website). Or you could use a silk shower cap.

Another alternative is to sleep with your hair in a high ponytail with a scrunchie (cloth covered hair tie). This only works if your hair is dry however and you are trying to preserve the curls. How should I sleep with my curly hair so it doesnt get ruined?
braid it! i have naturally curly crazy hair and it stays down
wet it a lil n tha morning
Take showers in the morning, braiding will ruin the curliness. I have the same hair and took a shower yesterday then woke up to find it all over this morning, and thats why i usually take them in the mornings.
Roll up your hair. What I mean is at night, take strands of your hair, and roll them up just the way they are. If it's a wide circle, or small ones, or something in between, clip them in place. In the morning, brush or shake loose, and that's it.

During the night, especially if your hair is damp, you are ';setting'; your hair into a new shape. But if you shaped your hair either with braids (waves) or curls or anything else you want, then they will stay in that shape. It doesn't take very long to do, and you don't have to be too careful. But form it into the shape you want, and they will stay that way in the morning.
    well i say just do what u normally do and add gel to your hair or blow dry it in the morning for the extra ';omh';

    Hoped i helped
This is what I do when I want to keep my hair lasting over night. Take your hair and wrap around your head tightly and clip it back. Of course, this will vary with hair length and the more hair might work less. Try not to let any hair out and make sure your hair will stay clipped while you sleep at night. The best thing to do is wear a hair net to bed (Not the lunch Lady kind).

How do I keep my naturally curly hair straight?

ok. I have naturally curly hair and i hate it. if water touches my hair, it frizzes up and goes curly. If i walk into humid weather or a humid room, i get poofy, wavy hair almost imediately. I dont have a problem getting it straight, just keeping it straight. i have to wait until deadwinter for straight hair and i'd like to be able to have it year-round. does anybody else have the same problem and know what to do or have any tips? How do I keep my naturally curly hair straight?
step uno! use a heat protectant spray [oh and don't straighten your hair RIGHT after you blow dry...it tends to still keep in that extra set of moisture making it curl back...so what i do is i blow dry then i put on makeup and then i straighten so i waste some time...]

    step dos! straighten ze hair!

step tres! let your hair cool down [or this is also when i just do my makeup and then i go right back to straightening]

step quatros! straighten once more adding some more heat protectant spray! [yea so it stays straight even more]

and voila! your hair should be straighter than usual...atleast mine is and mine tends to get very frizzy when wetHow do I keep my naturally curly hair straight?
use good products. my hairs the same way. a heat protecter helps.
yup same problem i asked a question about chi er i.chi hair stratener idk what do u use?!

I don't really want my hair to be straight but I definitely can relate to you on it not staying the way you put it! I would say straighten it several times, use a shampoo and conditioner that has straightening, and maybe take a comb with you whever you go. Hope this helps! :)
I'm not sure if this will help. But, you can go to hair salon and get it permed straight.
why dont you look into a smoothing treatment (BKT) its all natural cuts down the frizz reduces blowdry time in half or go with a complete keratin straightening. the ate expensive but it will help alot to maintain your hair.
well i know its not what you want to hear, but embrace your curl sometimes! it's a lot more healthy for your hair in seeing that straighteners KILL your hair and take all the natural oils and stuff needed for your hair to stay healthy on its own. but if you do want to make it less frizzy, leave in conditioner is ideal. also try the john frieda anti frizz collection. my friend uses it and she has the most beautiful shiny hair... and on rainy days!

It's about Taylor Swift getting a straight hairstyle. If that girl can go straight, anyone can.
i highly recommend Japanese hair straightening. i have very frizzy and poofy hair and it got much more manageable , soft and healthy after the straightening. but no matter what- make sure you are going to a professional who knows what they are doing! make sure to meet with other people that got it done with him/ her/ the salon. getting referrals for this will be your best bet.
I think www,celebrity-styles,us has really got some new happenings of glamor world. Really like the new hair styles of Zeta Zones and Britney there!! Nice tips on Fashion, Beauty and how to have a contemporary lifestyle.
When your hair is naturally curly and you heat straighten it, there is no way to stop it going frizzy when it is humid. I used to straighten my hair everyday and it used to frizz up, but now I jsut make sure I take good care of it in the mornings and wear it curly ^-^ I'm much happier.

When you get up in the morning, whatever you do DON'T BRUSH IT only comb it through in the shower when you condition your hair (and don't do that every day)

In the mornings try to get it wet but not soaking wet just quite damp especially on the ends so it doesn't look frizzy then add a little bit of frizz serum or even a tiny bit of mousse.

I have really thick, naturally curly hair. But I don't know how to do anything with it. Usually I just wet it down, towel dry it, and then dry the rest of it with a hair dryer. Afterwards I spray some hair spray in it and scrunch it. But it always looks flat and very, VERY, frizzy.

I need some quick, easy hairstyles that I can do with my curly hair. What are some easy hairstyles for curly hair that take only 10 minutes or less?
Here are some basic tips for curly hair that you might find helpful:

*Try to find a stylist who knows how to work with curly hair. You can find ratings by region here: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons

    *Don't shampoo every day.

*Comb conditioner through hair in the shower.

*Never use a brush on dry hair, only untangle when the hair is wet.

*Apply styling products to dripping wet hair. Scrunch or twirl hair to achieve desired shape.

*Use styling products suited for your hair type. Don’t know yours? http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types

*Avoid terrycloth towels; use microfiber or t-shirts instead.

*Air dry or use a diffuser with your blowdryer.

*Don't touch (or brush!) your hair while it’s drying

For specific products for your hair type you’ll want to explore the forums at:

    http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/

There you can find others with the same hair type and try out some of their favorite products. I would recommend something, but I don’t know your hair type. :)

Lastly, it has made my hair so much better since I started the curly girl method! I used to almost never wear it down (it was a frizz/poof ball), but now I have pretty, shiny curls. ~:) It’s pretty radical—no sulfates (shampoo) or silicones—but it’s so great for curly hair. Give it a shot and check it out:

How can I make my hair curly without a curling iron or hair rollers?

I want to make my hair curly or wavy either works. Cuz my hair is straight and I wanna make it wavy/curly for the first day of school

please and thank you, kpHow can I make my hair curly without a curling iron or hair rollers?
after you take a shower put some gel in it and the then scrunch it ( i usually put my hair in a bun) let airdry

or after a shower french braid or just normally braid you hair let dry then hairspray itHow can I make my hair curly without a curling iron or hair rollers?
you could scrunch it with moussse or gel.
braiding it either loosely or tightly can give you different types of waves/curls

using a straightening iron and wrapping hair around the outside gives you bigger curls too
    Try a straight iron.
. wash your hair. then put in a right messy bun for at least 3 hours. take it out and it it really curly
    french braid always works.
braids, moose, and twisted into, buns (2)

    that's all there is
this is what i'm going to do, and u can do this too...

buy herbal essences totally twisted, mousse:

    http://www.herbalessences.com/us/collect

    or the gel:

    http://www.herbalessences.com/us/collect

p.s. to make it work great, use it when hair is wet, put mousse and curl it with your fingers, then use some bobby pins and stick them in ur hair, 5 minutes later, get off the bobby pins and you'll have good waves

    hope this helps
after your shower take sections of your hair and twist them up to your head and pin them with bobby pins and sleep in them or just let them dry and take them down

get strips of fabric and twist your sections of hair around them and then tie them and let them dry or you can buy the rollers that do the same thing
My sister uses Catwalk curl styling cream! I use it to! It brings out your natural curl and lasts all dayy! The price is usually around 8.99 and your hair may feel a little crunchy! But its the newest style and looks ahhhh---dorablle! You can find it at any grocery store!%26lt;333

    Hope i helped!%26lt;3

Get a shower at night. Then apply a leave in conditioner (i like sunsilk hydra TLC and Herbal Essance Long Term Relationship Leave in conditioner) and mousse (i like herbal essance totally twisted). Then Make 2 french braids and sleep in them overnight. In the morning they should be dry. You can hairspray a bit and then take the braids out and shake your hair out. You can scrunch in some product, hairspray, or just leave it how it is. Your hair will be really curly/wavy. If your hair isn't dry when you take the braids out blow your hair dry with a diffuser and scrunch a little. Use a heat protective spray like Tresemme.
u could pin curl it up as a wet setting

if u dont know what that means its basically you rolling the hair up with your fingers ( in the same shape as roller , but without the actual roller ) and bobby pinning it in place.. do this with damn hair with any styling product to help it stay in place then hairspray all the hair and let it air dry or dry with a blow dryer
braid it the night before (when it's still wet) let dry.

How do I moisturize my naturally curly hair?

I have naturally curly hair. I blow dry it usually to get it to liven up and curly nicely. But that leaves me hair dry. And when it's dry, it will only get fuzzy undefined curls. I have started to only shampoo once every 3 or so week and just condition and not rinse out my conditioner. That seems to work, but then my hair gets greasy and my head starts to get a light odor because it isn't clean. Do you have any things that will moisturize my curls? Products or remedies? How do I moisturize my naturally curly hair?
I have the same type of hair... except mine is mid-calf... NEVER been cut. SO it's prolly a 100x worse. AND I live in the tropics where the humidity is 85% almost every day.

Anyway, I was advised to shampoo once or twice a week (cuts down on grease) AND to use a MOISTURIZING conditioner (not a volumizing one... like I did) exactly like you are... don't rinse it out all the way. Letting your hair naturally air dry might help. How do I moisturize my naturally curly hair?
try putting mousse in your hair when its wet
try air drying your hair naturally also.....

when blow-drying try to use a diffuser to detagle your hair without frizzing up your curls

For all ethnicities- also sold at Sephora!
A Beverly Hills celebrity hairstylist advised in a magazine that he recommends when in a hurry, use a bit of baby oil for that moisture in curly hair, and when trying to keep the natural oils (not washing hair for a few days) - to avoid odor and the greasy look, dab on baby powder on the scalp.
Before you take a shower put your conditioner in your have then use a shower cap for 30 minutes this will allow the moisture to really soak your hair follicles, then after you rinse it out dry your hair off with a cotton t-shirt, this make it so that your hair won't frizz up and cause them to be fuzzy
This could be my hair! What I have started doing and it working okay...Wash your hair with conditioner( no shampoo) and rinse it out well..get a hair dryer with a diffuser. I use shampoo about once a month to get the build up out.

How do i get my hair curly without actually having to CURL it?

I need to know what to do to my hair to get it curly without having to use a curling iron or hot rollers. I have dark brown, wavy hair that is very ';stylable';. Can i put it up in some way nad then sleep with it like that and then when i take it out in the morning it will be curly.

Please don't just say ';braid it';. I am kinda hair-stupid and i need a little more detail. How do i get my hair curly without actually having to CURL it?
well if you're hair is naturally curly then you should have no problem whatso ever...but using hair products like moose and foam to scrunch it works very well also...

i also use it to keep the style in and the frizz out when i have my hair curly..

but if your hair is naturally straight then have it permed...=)

but make sure you know what size of curls you want..=)How do i get my hair curly without actually having to CURL it?
get out of the shower or bath and just shake it and not plow dry it and it should stay curly for the rest of the day
How about trying to scrunch it? Get some moose or gel and then apply it to your hair then simply just scrunch your hair front the bottom the top...scrunch when your hair is damp not socking wet but damp
Try buying hair curling shampoo from Pantene. It really works and it will give u beautiful ringlets. Or if u want the scrunched look then when u wash your hair, try to scrunch it with a paper towel while drying it.
Try making little buns all over your head (think hellraiser) and then in the morning when you take them out you should have nice bouncy, curls.
I would do your hair the morning of, so you wont lose the curls like you do if you sleep on it.

When you get out of the shower let it air dry for 5-10 minutes

Then start blow drying it, and instead of using a brush, use your hands. The only way I can describe it is too ';scrunch'; your hair with your hands, while blow drying it. Like, you take a chunk of your hair and you squeeze it between your fingers while blow drying.

It works great for me, nice curls that will last through most of the day, and if not they usually just settle into waves.

    Good luck.
there is some kind of shampoo that does that i think it's dove. you have to use the whole bottle

to make it curly it last like a of couple months
lol, I know you said dont say ';braid it'; but if u dont want to curl it or roll it, thats really your only other option. section or ';part'; your hair off into small or large portions (small for small waves, large for large waves) and then braid each portion. better to do it when its wet. spary them with spritz, sleep with the braids, take them out in the morning. and there you are. not exactly curls, but close. best you can do without actually curling your hair. good luck!
when it's still wet scrunch some curl enhancing gel (or anti flat sunsilk 24/7 creme) in your hair and if you want a better result blow dry it. or put REALLY tight buns, the more you put the tighter and smaller the curls will be. hope this helps =]

    鈾?Leslie
just put some curlers in your hair while your hair is damp(they dont have to be hot/heated). Spray lightly with hairspray to set it. Go to bed. Take out in the morning, should be curly
Well putting two plaits in it either side overnight will make it wavy but beware, finger comb it when you take them out or use a wide toothed comb then a bit of hair serum or you will have serious frizz.

Or you could scrunch it with a bit of mousse which will make it messy rather than curly but that's kind of cute.

Or this website may help you:

    http://forums.handbag.com/showthread.php

    Good luck!

    Lorna
Okay.My answer does include braiding but oh well.Okay obviously braid your hair and just leave it like that and don't take them off for 2 days. Then after 2 days have passed, take them off and your hair will be curly!I've tried it too and my hair looked sooo pretty.
Well braiding your hair would be the best way, but if you don't know how that can be a problem! Try scrunching it, too. That should work but the best way i know is hot rollers or braiding!

    PS

Here's some sites for learning how to braid hair!
Theres a special trick that the pioneers used for this. You take a cloth (a clean dish towel works well) and cut it into strips about 1';x 24';. Take s small section of damp hair. Find the midpoint of the cloth strip and hold it against the base of the hair. Hold it taught and tightly wrap your hair (the tighter and small the around it until you reach the bottom of the strip or your hair isn't long enough to continue winding. Now take the other half of the cloth strip and (it should be at the base of your hair) wind it overtop the hair. Once you reach the bottom tie it off. Its best to do this before you go to sleep becuase it dries while you sleep. hope this helps and good luck!
Visit to those sites in source.
even tho you said not 2 say braid it, it really does work if you put do them in tight ones. or you can scrunch it with a styling gel!you can also tie it in a bun and sleep with it in.

all work 4 me, hope this helped!
i have wavy hair too. i used to hate having the ';in-the-middle hair'; it was never straight and never was exactly ';curly';....but now, i work with my hair, instead of trying to make it work! THIS IS SIMPLE!!!! use this shampoo %26amp; conditioner (you will see %26amp; feel the difference after one use, believe me its amazing!) http://www.finessehaircare.com/shampoo/s_moisturizing.html

then once your out of the shower......wrap your hair in a towel to catch the excess water...pat your hair just a little bit with the towel....then TAKE THE TOWEL OFF!......tilt your head over....then put your fingers to your scalp and gently rub your entire head (this is getting the hair to move around and find its natural waves %26amp; curls) ...then let your hair ';air dry.'; thats all there is to it. I would call this ';beach blown waves.'; Want more of a curl? then add a curl enhancer after you pat the excess water off. then again, let it ';air dry';....Its not good to blow dry your hair....b/c it does exactly that, it dries your hair out and will make it frizzy. thats why i say to air dry it. I hope you find this helpful
get a blowdryer with a diffuser (a big thing that expands the airflow) and scrunch the hair as you dry it. To do this, literally grab handfulls and squeeze as you're drying. The diffuser prevents the dryer from blowing the waves out. Put some mousse in before you start drying.

Scrunching basically uses your natural curl pattern and tightens it some, it's super easy but it might take a few times to get it right so don't get discouraged the first time.

How can I get natural looking curly hair?

I have straight hair %26amp; i really want it to be naturally curly. I sometimes curly my hair %26amp; it looks quite nice but I want it to look natural. Any ideas on how I can get natural looking curls without curling irons? How can I get natural looking curly hair?
uh????????not sureHow can I get natural looking curly hair?
Hi i have pin straight hair too. :( Its a pain sometimes. naturally curly hair is beautiful and I dont have much time. What I do to make my hair looking naturally is i wrap it around pieces of material and leave it over night. Also you can use avons curling products. They work great and give you very beautiful natural looking curls

to order the curling products go to

    www.youravon.com/jeanetteanderson
Get a perm, or french braid your hair and leave it in overnight.
curl your hair with a 1 1/2 inch iron. then tousle it to make it look messy and natural. i have the same problem as you do, its quite a pain having boring straight hair :(
Heres what I do. People ask if my hair is naturally curly all the time!

The night before, I put water and mousse in my hair then put it in braids.

    2-4 braids=larger curls

    6+ braids= small curls

If your hair really can't hold curl, I would suggest putting hairspray in your hair after you take the braids out.
    Get a perm.
    get 101Hairstyles
Hot rollers can make your hair appear naturally curly. You will have to experiment with them, as they can also give you an old lady look...depends on how long your hair is...
I have no idea. I try to do the opposite lol! Ummm a perm?

How do I keep my naturally curly hair from frizzing?

My hair is very thick, coarse textured and curly, the curls don't lay all uniform and pretty like a perm, they seemingly have lives of their own-lol. But just a little humidity turns my hair into an instant mess. Even leaving it curly with lots of gel instead of blow drying it does not help, are there any products to help? How do I keep my naturally curly hair from frizzing?
I wouldn't recommend biosilk - I've tried it and it just weighs my hair down and it's hard to wash out, very heavy.

I have had incredible success following the ';curly girl'; instructions, a book I found many years ago. Here they are in short form, but if you can find it somewhere, do buy it, it's a great read and all your curly haired friends will love to borrow it! Mine is always out on loan. Anyways, here is what you have to do:

    1. STOP shampooing - it just dries out your hair and makes it brittle and frizzy. Instead, use conditioner to wash and then conditioner to condition. Basically you cannot ';shampoo'; with a product that has sodium lauryl sulfate in it, that is the stuff they put in dishwashing soap - it creates a lather and ruins the texture of your hair. I found a shampoo that does not have sodium laurel sulfate and I use it when I feel my hair is getting a bit heavy. Curly hair has more openings in it than straight hair - because the scales do not lay flat. This means that it dries out much faster and needs to be treated very very gently. So if you do this first step it will go a LONG way! It might take a little while - I had best results when I cut my hair very short and started from scratch, you don't have to do that but do get a good trim after you get started to get rid of some of your damaged hair.

    2. Leave a little conditioner in your hair. Curly hair is thirsty hair, like I said, very dry. It needs a little help.

    3. Do a cold water rinse, to seal the hair shaft - I don't need to do this myself but you may like the results, experiment with it.

    3. Lastly, never never never brush your hair. After washing gently with conditioner and then conditioning, pat it dry with a towel and put in your gel or what have you (no biosilk!). I like mousse, gel, or gel spray myself. Then, let it dry naturally, without running fingers through or brushing. Believe me, it is hard to do because at about half time it doesn't look so hot! But it is worth the wait. It sounds like you have REALLY curly hair, where as I have wavy-curly hair - as I dry my hair I need to flip my head upside down serveral times to let the curls find themselves and get loose from the other hair - you could try this and see if it works for you.

    4. If you still get a few frizzy hairs after all this (I sometimes do if I don't put enough product in), you can put something creamy over those fine hairs that are just sticking out - I sometimes even use hand cream if I don't have my anti friz cream.

GOOD LUCK! I hope this advice works for you! Society just does not seem to support us curly girls, even though all the ladies at work are super jealous of my hair. ( I wish I had straight hair of course!) For example, on What Not To Wear, they make most of the curly haired ladies iron their poor curls straight ( not good to fry already frizzy hair!) and this from a man who has curls. I always think ';JERKS!'; So the ladies get a hair makeover that lasts the one day and they go home feeling bad about their curly hair. No help from Nick at all. It frustrates the hell out of me - on TV and movies 99.9% of the time, straight haired girls are on such a pedestal! (And they are in the minority, most people have wavy or culy hair!) Anyways. My rant is over!! :)How do I keep my naturally curly hair from frizzing?
    bioslilk works really good!
    jeri curl grease.
My hair is just like yours! I use John Frieda's frizz ease serum, you have to put it on when you have just washed your hair. its really good. hope that helped. :D
    You should get 360 waves
The ';Frizz Ease'; products that you can buy in the store are quite good. They don't entirely fix the problem - but they help a lot.

I finally just cut my hair off - and now at less than an inch in most places - the frizz (and most of the curl) is gone.
Use a serum on it. Frizz-eaze is a good one xxx
fabric softener sheets work pretty well. they have some anti-static thing with them.

I miss my long hair =/
Keep your hair from drying out by using a cream or something, dry hair is more susceptible to frizzies...
use herbal essences in the skinny purple bottle...its mousse and its called totally twisted...i have the same problem and this totally helps
use serums or products designed especially for silky curls. i suggest buying one you find that will work best, then when your hair is wet, with product on your hands, slowly wrap strands of hair around your fingers to form a curl. once you've done all your hair, dry on low heat with a diffuser, and that should help bunches
make sure you condition really well. and try something likea suave healthy curls. or garnier frutise surf hair. they both work really well at fighting frizz
I think paraffin is the best it was used for hair during the war
    go here: http://www.naturallycurly.com/
some new shampoos have frizz control in them now, so you should research that, but BEDHEAD has a gel/ mouse that you put in your hair and it works really well it's called friz control or something like that but it's in most walmarts. they are different kinds of colors the bottles i mean . but it really helps.
curly hair is difficult to control it style because it frizzes and shrink after in water.i believe that Redken Fresh Curls Shampoo for curly hair ,Curl Friends Cleanse Daily Shampoo for Curly Hair, Loreal Vive Curl Vive Shampoo For Curly Hair, and Marc Anthony xForever Long Shampoo for Curly Hair are good products for curly hair to keep it in tacked and not frizz.
Go to this website and take a look. Someone there should be able to help you.

Oil is the only thing that helps. I share this problem. Blow drying is bad for the hair.

Best to take a little oil and rub it all over. Avoid the top of head; do the tangles. Then, after towel drying, take the hair and tie with a band. Lose Pony style. Crunch the rest of the hair. Leave it that way for a while. Then take away the band and let that portion dry.

I am afraid, nothing much can be done during humidity.

A product we use is Aveda brilliant styling cream Helps.
You didn't say whether your hair is dry or oily, but you could be describing my hair. I use a shampoo and conditioner for dry/ damaged or color treated hair. Mine is VERY dry by nature. I really like TRESemme and it is fairly inexpensive. I NEVER blow dry as it dries my hair and makes it frizzier. I towel wrap for a few minutes, to pull out the excess water. I then use a leave in cream conditioner, called Paul Mitchell, The Conditioner. Beauty supply stores sometimes sell a generic of this product. I make sure it is thoroughly combed through and use it as my styling agent and style it as I could like and leave dry. When my hair get caught in wind or rain, I use Infusium spray for touch ups and keep a small spray bottle with me most of the time. Never comb or brush dry, that adds to the frizz.

The style also makes a difference. I always wore long hair and it was easier to manage. I have short hair now because of chemo, and it is much harder to control. Wet windy days and curly hair are a good formula for pony tails or french braids and I do not have that option yet.

I am glad that you asked this question. I am enjoying reading the answers and am always looking for new ideas.

How do you perminantly straighten naturally curly, regularly died hair?

My friend regularly dies her hair, but its Naturally curly. No matter how much she straightens it, it seems to go back curly. She uses GHD's, so therefore you can't expect much better performance from other straighteners, and would like to know if there is any way for it to be permanently straightened.

    Many Thanks.

Start by using some sort of anti frizz product after washing your hair. Then, try using a diffuser. Start by sectioning off your hair and diffusing each section at a time.

Also, you should talk to a stylist to get a haircut that would actually work with your curls. Good luck..
I'm black and have relaxed hair. But my hair is curly when it's wet. It's frizzy too. I started using Dove Curl Definer Mousse. I didn't think it would work; I though it'd only work for white people hair (not trying to be racist) but it works just fine for me. Gets rid of most frizz.
    curl it duh

  • How can I get natural looking curly hair?
